In our orchards, families delight in fruitful adventures—from apple picking and hayrack rides, to searching for the perfect pumpkin to carve on Halloween. Nature enthusiasts enjoy the new season with outdoor activities such as hiking and leaf-peeping along forested trails.

What’s more, an exciting new nature attraction opened this fall at Tree Adventure at Arbor Day Farm. This three-acre, fun-for-all-ages destination takes you on a treetop adventure where you’ll explore nearly a dozen tree houses, cross suspended bridges, and tiptoe your way along netted walkways. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience up in the trees that’s guaranteed to bring out the kid in everyone!

Apple picking is a wonderful experience the whole family can enjoy. Pick your own apples in the orchards or purchase pre-picked apples at the Apple House Market.

Enjoy a free hayride to the orchard on weekends: September 28–October 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy a mash-up of Arbor Day Farm’s most beloved fall season activities — all rolled into one unique family-friendly event. Go on a hayrack ride to Morton Oak tree, sip delicious hot chocolate and apple cider, enjoy a hot dog, make mouthwatering s’more treats, and listen to tales from a storyteller.

Shimmy your way skyward along a tall oak savanna, but don’t worry, we’ll get you harnessed and secured for the trip. Expert guides will be there to keep you safe while offering instruction and encouragement.

Living History Weekend

Arbor Lodge Mansion

Journey back in time to the bygone days of yesteryear. See historic trades, talents, and other demonstrations come alive inside the mansion and out on the grounds of Nebraska City’s National Historic Landmark.

Heirloom Apple Tasting

Arbor Day Farm Preservation Orchard

Weekends: October 5-20  |  12 p.m.–4 p.m.

Sample some of the oldest and finest varieties of heirloom apples, many of which are no longer available in grocery stores. The Preservation Orchard represents one of the nation’s few collections of antique apple varieties, some of which date back as far as the 1600’s.

Halloween Pumpkin Party

Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

October 26  |  9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Enjoy no-scare family-fun activities at the Tree Adventure. Our special pumpkin party offers free hayrack rides to the pumpkin patch and spook-tacular activities such as face painting, craft making, and adventures in the corn maze. Be sure to wear your walking shoes because the Tree House Trail will feature a Halloween-themed hike.
