Partners of the Lied Lodge Renewal Project

Lied Lodge & Conference Center is a one-of-a-kind gathering place for meetings, weddings, leisure travelers, and other visitors.

After more than two decades of inspiring people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees, this unique venue in Nebraska City, Nebraska, has renewed its commitment to the future through the generous support of partners.

From paint to pillows, shingles to sheets – the Lied Lodge Renewal Project is nearly complete, with the absorption chillers scheduled for install mid-year 2016. The work involved has been great, but greater still is the impact of our guests who, after staying in this renewed place, will return home inspired to make a difference in the world.

How it Began

Making a difference is really where the story begins. Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO), an Arbor Day Foundation partner since 2010, was inspired to take their partnership to the next level after learning more about the breadth, depth, and impact of several Arbor Day Foundation programs. Specifically, WVO saw an opportunity to enhance the Arbor Day Foundation’s Lied Lodge & Conference Center through strategic involvement of their vendors and partners in the hospitality industry.

In the spring of 2014, more than 30 of these hospitality industry partners gathered for a Partners Make the Difference Summit, where they learned more about the scope of the Lied Lodge Renewal Project. After seeing where their involvement could have the greatest impact, companies pledged their support in donated or discounted goods, services, and expertise to propel the project forward.

Lied Lodge’s Next Chapter

Lied Lodge has always been a place where people gather to learn, to renew, to be inspired. And it will continue to be such a place well into the future, thanks to the support of partners who care.

Sam Buckingham, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations for WVO, painted a vivid picture for what lies ahead when he said: “Our goal for Lied Lodge is to preserve its grandeur, enhance its architectural beauty, provide sustainable product results for ease and care of operations, and ensure that the generations of visitors fortunate enough to stay at the Lodge will appreciate and be inspired by their experience.”
