Reception Questions

How much does it cost to have a wedding at Lied Lodge?
Weddings vary in pricing based on the time of the year, day of the week, number of guests, and the overall wedding style. As a general rule, a wedding reception at Lied Lodge with 200 guests costs approximately $11,000 - $15,000. Your costs may vary. We encourage you to contact us to discuss specific costs.
Is there a difference in price between having a wedding on a Friday vs. a Saturday?
During the busiest of the wedding season (May through October), pricing may or may not be different from a Friday to Saturday. If your wedding date is flexible and you are looking to save a little money, please discuss pricing and day of the week options with the Wedding Coordinator.
What is the maximum capacity for each location?
Our most popular wedding venues are: West Ballroom - 280 people; Historic Morton Barns - 200 people; Steinhart Lodge - 160 people
What's included in the room rental price?
The room rental at Lied Lodge and Steinhart Lodge includes all tables and chairs, set-up and tear-down, linen tablecloths, linen napkins, fine china, silverware, glassware, dance floor, cake table with skirting, gift table with skirting, head table with skirting and guestbook table with skirting. Mirror tiles and votive candles/holders are available upon your request.
Can I have an outdoor reception?
Yes, the Historic Morton Barns on Arbor Day Farm are just a short walk from the back door of Lied Lodge, and they offer a unique area and a natural setting for your reception.
How far in advance do I need to reserve the space?
The timing of reserving space for your ceremony or reception varies. The most popular months for weddings are May through October. As a rule of thumb, six months to one year is good, however, it never hurts to ask about availability if your wedding day is closer, as dates may be available. Also, reserving space further out than 12 months may secure the exact date that you want for your wedding.
Can I bring my own food or caterer?
All food, with the exception of the wedding cake, mints and nuts, must be supplied through the Lied Lodge culinary team.
Can I bring in my own wine or champagne for the reception?
Bringing in your own specialty wine or champagne is allowed. There will be a corkage fee for each bottle opened.
Can we bring our own alcohol besides wine?
All alcohol and beer must be purchased through Lied Lodge.
When can I decorate the room?
The time that you will be able to decorate your room will be determined 30 days prior to your wedding. 2pm the day of the wedding is the standard time for a late afternoon or evening wedding.

Ceremony Questions

Can I have an outdoor wedding ceremony?
Lied Lodge and Arbor Day Farm is a beautiful setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies, with several locations available. The three most popular sites are (1) the Hazelnut Lawn: north side of Lied Lodge overlooking the hazelnut field with the Morton Mansion in the background, (2) the East Lawn: the east end of Lied Lodge - perfect for summer weddings as it is shaded, and (3) the Historic Morton Barns, which are truly unique and charming.
Can I have just my ceremony there but not my reception?
Anything is a possibility. Contact us with your wedding date and number of guests for a ceremony only. Without holding your reception here, we may not be able to make the reservation for a ceremony only until 30 days before the day of the wedding.
What happens if it rains and I have an outdoor ceremony planned?
If there is rain the day of your wedding, the ceremony can be held in your reception room. If you have reserved the Historic Barns, the event will go on as planned, as the Barns feature vinyl walls / flaps that can be rolled down in rainy weather, keeping everything inside the Barns dry.

Lodging Questions

Does Lied Lodge have a bridal suite?
Lied Lodge does not have a bridal suite at this time. However, we do have a few adjoining guest rooms. Many guests will reserve one room with a king bed and the adjoining parlor room, which is similar to a living room. This combination of two rooms is also a great place for groomsmen or bridesmaids to gather before the ceremony.
What do the guest rooms cost? Can I book my reception there without renting guest rooms?
To reserve a wedding at Lied Lodge, a minimum of 30 guest room nights must be reserved. The cost of rooms varies from $109 to $149 based on the time of the year.

There are many details involved with your special day. A majority of brides begin making final decisions nine months prior to the wedding. All details with the wedding specialist at Lied Lodge should be completed 60 days prior to the wedding date. The only item that will be undetermined at that time should be your final guest count as you will be waiting on RSVPs.

On your initial visit, please allow one hour to meet with the wedding specialist. The days and dates that she is available may vary by week, however, Tuesday through Saturdays are the best days for appointments. Saturdays tend to be the busiest days due to weddings taking place. The length of additional planning appointments will be determined by the detail and style of your wedding.
