Enhance your visit to Arbor Day Farm with an engaging Nature Interpreter who shares the history of this 260-acre National Historic Landmark. The tour begins at Lied Lodge, then includes a look inside the Fuelwood Energy Plant, and concludes with a walk to the Tree Adventure. Available year round.

Learn to identify and classify trees by their leaf shape, structure, seeds, fruit, and leaves. 

• Tree identification activity lasts about one hour; as a teambuilding exercise with prizes, allow two hours.

Visit the Fuelwood Energy Plant, a renewable biomass energy operation that uses trees and technology to heat and cool Lied Lodge & Conference Center at Arbor Day Farm. Find the forest gnomes climbing trees and hiding in the brush. Using clues and a map, looking high and low, the hunt is on. Available year round.

Enjoy the evening stars at Arbor Day Farm as your group unwinds around a big, mesmerizing bonfire out in the open air. Available year round.

Rekindle a sense of wonder, discovery, and collaboration as trainers from Dimensions Educational Research Foundation lead a series of outdoor activities to enhance your physical, intellectual, and emotional awareness with a deep connection with the natural world. Available April through November.

Take the Discovery Ride to the vineyards at Arbor Day Farm, enjoy great conversation with your Nature Interpreter, and learn about the grapes and wines produced at Arbor Day Farm. Available June through August.

You'll take the Discovery Ride to our Preservation Orchard, home to more than 60 unusual apple varieties. Stroll through the historic orchard to smell the blossoms in April, or -- in season -- pick an heirloom variety and taste apple goodness no longer available in grocery stores. A Nature Interpreter enhances your experience with information about our living genetic repository for future food sources in changing climates. Available April through October.

Commemorate your event or a special occasion by planting your own tree at Arbor Day Farm. The ceremony includes a tree (ranging 4-feet to 7-feet tall) -- choose from 67 different species -- with a small plaque describing the tree and the person or event being honored. Shovels and mulch provided. The arborist team at Arbor Day Farm will provide ongoing care for your living monument. Available April through November.
