At Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure

Share in a summer evening treat at the Tree Adventure. Sunset & S'mores is offered every Friday and Saturday night through September 10.

Climb aboard for a guided, Sunset Discovery Ride as you journey through the orchards and vineyards at Arbor Day Farm. Following the ride, gather ’round for a twilight bonfire complete with make-your-own s’mores.

Your reservation includes after-hours access at the Tree Adventure, beginning at 6:30pm; explore the grounds until the Discovery Ride departs at 7:30 pm; bonfire and s'mores follows the ride. Cost is $19 per adult, $15 per child (age 3-12) and includes your Tree Adventure admission, your ticket for the Discovery Ride, the bonfire, make-your-own s'mores, and bottled water.

Reservations are required and minimum of 10 participants by 5:00pm for the Sunset & S’mores activity; please call the Tree Adventure at (402) 873-8717 to reserve your seat. This activity wraps up no later than 10:00pm.

Wine, Cheese, & A Walk Among the Trees is a relaxing wine & nature activity at Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure.

Start with a glass of Arbor Day Farm wine and snack on assorted cheeses; then head out to the wooded trails for a casual stroll-and-learn with one of Arbor Day Farm’s tree experts.

Cost is $19 per adult; $15 per child (age 12 and younger) and includes two tickets to the Tree Adventure; four wine tastes (cider for the kids); two souvenir wine glasses.

Mark your calendar: Nebraska City’s annual Applejack Festival is Sept. 16-18, 2016. We invite you to join us in celebrating an abundant apple harvest!

At the Tree Adventure:
• Pick your own apples in the orchard.
• Climb aboard the Discovery Ride with a stop in the Preservation Orchard. Rides depart hourly, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Enjoy live music, bubble making, face painting, and wood carving demonstrations.
• Admission: $8 adults, $6 youth (ages 3-12). Discovery Ride tickets are an additional $5 per person.

At the Apple House Market:
• Shop for apples by the bag or bushel.
• Taste Arbor Day Farm wines.

At the Historic Barns:
• Shop at the craft show, featuring 50+ booths of hand-crafted items. Open Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sample heirloom apples from the Preservation Orchard.

At Arbor Lodge Mansion:

Whether you swim laps or just splash around, all guests are welcome in the olympic-sized indoor pool. Take a relaxing soak in the Jacuzzi or steam away stress in the red cedar sauna. Young swimmers will appreciate the separate baby pool, just 18" deep. The pool is open daily from 6:30am to 11:00pm, and is reserved exclusively for Lied Lodge guests.

Arbor Lodge is the original estate of J. Sterling Morton -- the founder of Arbor Day, the tree planter's holiday. What started as a four-room home evolved into the 52-room mansion that still stands today. The home is filled with priceless artifacts of the Morton Family's life and legacy; you will be impressed.

Commemorate your event or a special occasion by planting your own tree at Arbor Day Farm. The ceremony includes a tree (ranging 4-feet to 7-feet tall) -- choose from 67 different species -- with a small plaque describing the tree and the person or event being honored. Shovels and mulch provided. The arborist team at Arbor Day Farm will provide ongoing care for your living monument. Available April through October.
